Alongside the one-day project courses, I’m always very happy to provide training in wood turning that will help you to develop your skills. For instance, you may wish to learn more about tool sharpening which is a fundamental skill in wood turning. If you were keen to learn more about tool sharpening, I’ve got a dedicated section of the workshop that is set up for this and I’m keen to work with you with on increasing your skills. This might be worthwhile considering if you’ve recently purchased a set of second hand tools or have just purchased your first lathe. Please also feel free to bring along your own tools and I’ll help to sharpen them if needed.

If you want to build on your skills in this way, I’d suggest that we work together in a series of sessions so that you can practice in your own time alongside the support I provide.

Details and pricing
A full day will usually run from 10:00 – 16:00, however the start and end times can be flexible to meet your needs. This course can be run with up to two students working on the same kind of project at a time. For a one-to-one day, the price is £140. If you would like to come as a pair with a friend or family member, this is available at a reduced price of £125 per person. Included in the price is all tuition, use of tools and basic materials (most of the woods used are locally sourced from fallen, unwanted trees or joinery off-cuts). Refreshments will be available throughout the day. Bring a pack lunch.

Please note: dress in suitable clothing and footwear for a day in the workshop.
